System 1: The Currency Exchange – Fast, Easy, Essential
The Currency Exchange is the single most important addition to PoE 2's trading ecosystem. It lets you exchange stackable currency items instantly with other players, completely eliminating the need for direct interaction.
How to Unlock It
You'll get access after beating the main campaign on Normal difficulty and entering Cruel difficulty. Once unlocked, you can access the Exchange through specific NPCs: Finn in Act 1, Risu in Act 2, and Alva in Act 3. In endgame, Alva in your Hideout becomes your go-to for currency exchanges.
How It Works
Select what you want on the "I Want" side and what you're offering on the "I Have" side. The system shows you the current market ratio. If Exalted Orbs are trading at 3:1 for Divine Orbs, you'll need three Exalted Orbs to get one Divine Orb. The trade is instant when your offer matches the market rate.
What You Can Trade
The Exchange covers a wide range of categories: Currency Orbs, Delirium items, Breach Splinters and Stones, Fragments, Expedition currency, Essences, Omens, and Soul Cores.
What It Costs
A gold fee applies to every transaction, scaled by trade size and rarity. The bigger the trade, the more gold you'll need. Keep a healthy gold reserve if you plan to use the Exchange frequently.

System 2: Asynchronous Trade – Sell While You Sleep
The latest major update introduced Ange, the Merchant NPC, enabling asynchronous trading. This system lets you sell items automatically without needing to be online or respond to whispers. It's passive income at its finest.
How to Set It Up
Complete the "Hostile Takeover" quest to unlock Ange as your Merchant NPC. Existing Premium Stash Tabs can be converted to Merchant Tabs, making the transition seamless.
Listing Your Items
Place items in your Merchant Tab and set your desired price. Other players can browse and purchase directly from Ange while you're offline, and the currency appears in your Earnings Tab. You don't need to do anything—the system handles everything.
Instant Buyout
The in-game Market Panel (accessed by pressing "/" on PC) lets buyers search for items using the "Instant Buyout Only" filter. This shows items available for immediate purchase without seller interaction.
When to Use It
Asynchronous trade is ideal for mid-tier items that have consistent demand but aren't valuable enough to warrant active selling. List them and forget them. The sales happen while you play—or while you sleep.
